 CHARLENE
WENDELL, JCC Association consultant on camping and children’s
services, has been working with JCC camping and family programming
for 30 years. After graduating from the University of Bridgeport,
she worked for the JCC of Bridgeport as an elementary department
activities instructor. Following several years as director
of junior high and preschool camps at the JCC of Wilkes-Barre
in Pennsylvania, Charlene became the director of children
and youth services at the JCC of Charleston, and then associate
director of Emma Kaufmann, a 400-bed resident camp, at the
JCC of Pittsburgh. She was also director of the children’s,
family and youth departments at that JCC. Charlene was director
of Camp Tevya before she joined JCC Association. Charlene
has expertise in staff training, camp-program development,
community programming, and supervision.
